Love is like a Circus

By: Kiana Shaffer

My sister grabbed onto my hand as we exited the circus ring. This gesture let me know that she had missed me and our connection as sisters was strong. She turned her head to check if I was still following among the crowd of people. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a guy staring at my sister from across the ring. He looked like he was in a trance as he looked at my sister and her golden strawberry blonde hair with her blue eyes and dress. It was like he had the power to slow down time as he looked at us, when they locked eyes I bumped into the back of my sister. I stared at both of them and it was like we were stuck in a bubble. You could hear a faint sound of joyful music playing; it was love at first sight. I started to tap my feet in boredom or lack of understanding it was like I was stuck I had no choice but to watch. I thought they were going to attract like magnets when I started to pull on her arm to move her along. I pulled her from this love bubble and time sped up again. The circus theme song fast forwarded and all the animals and people were exiting so fast it was like a blur. We were then outside the tent and walking fast as if we were in danger. My sister’s face still showed love it was like the emotion of love hadn’t wiped off her face yet what was happening? Time wasn’t caught up yet until we were in the car with our family and we were 2 miles away. That’s when I started to hear again. I started to see my sisters face change to love to…. wonder …..of why she wasn’t able to walk up to this guy and introduce herself. There was a big sigh and the night was over just like that.
